(NSI News Source Info) TORONTO, Canada - April 26, 2012: Oshkosh Corp., Oshkosh, Wis., was awarded a $16,090,170 firm-fixed-price contract.  The award will provide for the services in support of the Mine Resistant Ambush Protected All-Terrain Vehicle.  

Work will be performed in Afghanistan, Japan, Germany, and Oshkosh, Wis., with an estimated completion date of Dec. 31, 2012.  Five bids were solicited, with five bids received. 

 The U.S. Army Contracting Command, Warren, Mich., is the contracting activity (W56HZV-09-D-0111).

(NSI News Source Info) TORONTO, Canada - March 28, 2012: Oshkosh Defense, a division of Oshkosh Corporation (NYSE:OSK), will produce more than 2,500 additional Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles(FMTV) trucks and trailers for the U.S. Army following an order from the U.S. Army TACOM Life Cycle Management Command (LCMC). The Army has now ordered more than 29,000 FMTV trucks and trailers from Oshkosh.

“Over the first three years of this five-year contract, we have delivered superior-quality trucks and trailers for soldiers for their combat operations, relief efforts and unit-resupply missions at home and abroad,” said Mike Ivy, vice president and general manager of Army Programs for Oshkosh Defense. “We will continue to offer fleet improvements by developing prototypes with upgraded technology, such as our TAK-4® independent suspension system that improves off-road mobility, ride quality and protection capabilities.”

Oshkosh Defense’s rigorous production and quality processes ensure on-time delivery of high-quality trucks and trailers. The FMTV is a series of 17 models ranging from 2.5-ton to 10-ton payloads. Vehicles have a parts commonality of more than 80 percent, resulting in streamlined maintenance, training, sustainment and overall cost efficiency.

This is the latest order under the five-year FMTV contract awarded to Oshkosh Defense for the production of trucks and trailers, as well as support services and training, through calendar year 2015. In response to larger IEDs, Oshkosh worked closely with the MRAP Joint Program Office (JPO) to design and deliver the first M-ATV UIK in less than 30 days. The kits increase the M-ATV’s protection level beyond the initial requirements and are part of Oshkosh’s comprehensive strategy to help keep Warfighters safer on the battlefield without limiting mission-critical off-road mobility.

“Oshkosh Defense uses a modular approach to vehicle design, allowing the M-ATV and several other fielded platforms to accept a wide range of upgrades in-theater as threats evolve,” said John Bryant, vice president and general manager of Joint and Marine Corps Programs for Oshkosh Defense. “We design UIKs and test them thoroughly to meet the government’s stringent survivability requirements. Our Field Service Representatives then go wherever needed, including in-theater, to install the kits in rapid fashion.”

In addition to the M-ATV, Oshkosh produces UIKs to enhance protection for other vehicle platforms. The U.S. Army to date has ordered more than 400 UIKs, also known as C-Kit armor, for the Oshkosh Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical Truck (HEMTT) A4.

The LVSR cargo variant is used in even the most challenging terrain to transport a wide range of supplies and materials, including ammunition, fuel containers, bridging equipment, flatracks and ISO containers. The LVSR tractor variant is designed to haul combat vehicles, semi-trailers and other equipment. It has a fifth-wheel vertical-loading capacity of 25.3 tons and a recovery winch with a 30-ton capacity.

The LVSR is produced in three variants – cargo, wrecker and tractor – and is used in tandem with the medium-payload, Oshkosh-built Medium Tactical Vehicle Replacement (MTVR). The LVSR is equipped with the Oshkosh Command Zone™ embedded diagnostics system to provide real-time performance feedback on major vehicle systems, including the engine, transmission and brakes. The vehicle also uses the company’s patented TAK-4® independent suspension system for off-road mobility in severe landscapes.

The order is valued at more than $94 million and work is expected to be completed in September 2013. Oshkosh to date has received orders for more than 2,000 LVSRs.

(NSI News Source Info) TORONTO, Canada - February 4, 2012:  Oshkosh Defense, Oshkosh, Wis., is being awarded $94,352,041 for fixed-price delivery order 0151 under a previously awarded indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract (M67854-06-D-5028) for the purchase of 143 Logistics Vehicle System Replacement (LVSR) production cargo vehicles, federal retail excise tax for 113 cargo vehicles; 69 LVSR tractor (fifth wheel) vehicles; and federal retail excise tax for 20 tractor vehicles.  

Work will be performed in Oshkosh, Wis., and is expected to be completed by Sept. 30, 2013.  

Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.  The Marine Corps System Command, Quantico, Va., is the contracting activity.

 (NSI News Source Info) TORONTO, Canada - January 31, 2012:  Oshkosh Corp., Oshkosh, Wis., is being awarded a $6,998,250 firm-fixed-price contract to supply 217 diesel engines, which will be installed in newly manufactured Medium Tactical Vehicle replacement variants.  

Work will be performed in Corinth, Miss., and is expected to be completed in June 2013.  Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. 

 This contract was not competitively awarded.  The Marine Corps Systems Command, Quantico, Va., is the contracting activity (M67854-12-C-0217)
